In face of rapid technological change and the upheaval of the world economy long-term forecasts appear as an adventure. Nevertheless they are needed more than ever.
On behalf of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) an international consortium of research institutes has developed a pan-European labour market forecast model for 28 EU countries, the former Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. The objective of
the forecast model is to establish a qualification and occupational
forecast for each country on the basis of a common method and
comparable data.
